99U Is Hiring a Staff Writer / Associate Editor

The creative world is building in complexity. Competition is intensifying as creatives everywhere must outrun globalization, outsourcing, and automation to build a body of work amongst an ever-shifting technological landscape. Those that are thriving in this environment are adopting brand new mindsets and processes.

That’s why 99U is looking for a whip-smart editor to monitor, report, and provide insights on those successfully navigating these issues for our fast-growing audience. Sound like you? Let’s talk.

The Staff Writer / Associate Editor is the advocate for our growing readership of creatives from all industries. Your main job? Seek out the latest creative career trends and distill them into actionable insights. You will work closely with the Editor-in-Chief to further establish 99U as the go-to creative resource. You must have a passion for empowering the creative community. You must be comfortable interviewing sources and turning around feature-style articles on deadline. You must have real writing ability and real editorial experience. You must have an interest in the online editorial landscape. You must revel in the opportunity to shape the public discourse around creative careers.

As we are a small team, everyone works across all of our offerings—our broader online presence, the 99u.com editorial engine, 99U Quarterly, and our live events, including the 99U Conference. 99U is all about making ideas happen, and we work to be as organized, productive, and creative as we can in all of our daily endeavors.

This is not a “behind the scenes” role. You will be out in front of 99U’s many wide-ranging publishing projects. It’s a lot of work, but it’s also exhilarating and extremely rewarding. We have bold plans for 2016 and we need someone who can join us in taking 99U to the next level. If you have the creativity, energy, and expertise to join us—and are ready to be challenged and inspired by working with an incredible team—we look forward to hearing from you.
